Desert Flower

Would she ever fit in

Looking at what was right in front of her

She noticed it was different

For this reason she was drawn to it

She nestled herself onto it.

She looked right there

She looked pretty

She looked artistic

She looked comfortable, happy,

Even where she belonged

Unfortunately her feelings of contentment came upon her

This she was use to

She could never figure out why

Mostly it would make her cry

She so wanted to belong and fit in

Perhaps maybe be like everyone else and no one would notice:

Her stumble, pause, stare, peculiar faces and eyes,

The breath she was losing the longer she stayed around

Perhaps she wasn’t the desert flower.
