 I wrote this after watching the movie ‘True Spirit’ on Netflix. I had been lost in a place I hadn’t been in before swinging in my yoga hammock. When I came back to the presence of my normal I realized I was very comfortably lost in the swinging in the dark with my eyes closed as a normal. I knew what to write after I saw Jesse’s story. I knew my body was pleasantly, comfortably accepting the new normal about to come and I embraced it. I wanted to share this but couldn’t figure out how to word it.

I sit here rocking

Though I know you’re still with me

I caught a moment when you weren’t 

I wasn’t scared for that time

Just lost in a beautiful place

I was sailing in the sea


Chorus

Just swinging here in my swing

Losing my sight is like

Not to be afraid

It comes on so slowly and comfortably

 This song comes from me looking down at the waterfront where I live in Portland, OR. I don't go down to it, I just look down toward it. I can see the bikes and people. Hear the noises coinciding with it from afar. Yet I hold my breath and clutch my chest to the what the remembrance of that spot brings to me. I'm still working on this emotional feeling.
