 I did an experimental expression composition this week for my upcoming Fri singer songwriter podcast. My mind was too tired to push after the CT scan of my damaged eyes to push for a proper chorus. I thought the sound of one I picked previously was of expression though, so I trusted the universe and went with it. Let me know what you think if you listen to the podcast. Rose Colored Window by Lori

Verse

I feel weightless with dreams

I’m light and airy though

it might not be 

where I should be thinking

I might be bouncing 

around into things


Verse

The air is cold and dark

I can almost read it

why should it be 

any different 

then


Verse

I’m scared at the thought 

of having to sit on the floor

after I’ve reached for help

from the steel frame 

of my hammock

in the dark now in a new way


Bridge

I’m echoing

as I’m chattering

bringing in a new sensation

to an unknown movement

It’s tricky. at the thought 

but I’m trying

I‘m bouncy, I’m unsinkable

my dreams are calling me

though I should be sinking

I’m staying afloat


I’ll bring sunshine into my life

As I open the shade

as I progress

to this rose colored window

 This I felt so strongly within this past hour. I could feel the coldness of how unimportant she was. I do remember her as an important woman.  This song comes from me looking down at the waterfront where I live in Portland, OR. I don't go down to it, I just look down toward it. I can see the bikes and people. Hear the noises coinciding with it from afar. Yet I hold my breath and clutch my chest to the what the remembrance of that spot brings to me. I'm still working on this emotional feeling.
