It’s so dark in my apartment but not in my heart
When my mind wanders to wild thoughts
It always takes me to you
And now I know how deeply

To make my day brighter
But more often you surprise me

There are times when I awaken frightened
I realize that you’ve been a part of my dreams
Running to me saving me
Then during the day when my imagination runs wild
I have to stop and catch myself
it takes me into your arms to feel safe
knowing that’s the place I need to be

So many times I haven’t shared with someone
how frightened I’ve been in my life
I used to be afraid to fall feeling like falling off a cliff
I don’t feel that anymore
but you remind me how vulnerable I am to love
I honestly was going to settle upon
not finding a man that was right for me
Then you came along so bold and strong
I couldn’t ignore your attention
