The Wings Are Made and Begin to Fly

Learning to love the body once traumatized

running so many years to be able to reflect temporarily

astonishment and power creating a constant change

coming to terms with marks up and down vertically

it lays back so eloquently now creating a constant change in physicality

like in a book of myths right before the eyes the wings are made and begin to fly.

Turn Your Struggles Into Strengths | Lori Harder | TEDxUCIrvine #mytraumachange

My trauma change was when I was 16 and taken to the beach by a popular boy from high school on a date and beat up. I wasn't raped, I was just beat up. I was beat up for dancing happily in the waves on the beach after two other boys that passed by complimented my looks and told the boy I was on the date with how lucky he was. I was so happy dancing in the waves before this thinking how lucky I was to be with someone that was lucky to be with me.

I think it's good to know when your trauma changed you even though it may seem to you or others that this time isn't important. It's very important to healing.

I think I found a name for my next poetry book. Life is so hard for us as women every day not being recognized as equal citizens. And not equal citizens in pay, or God forbid parenting, even schooling which I had a hard time with in my era, but in our everyday routines with our thoughts, speech, actions, and love. How lonely it is to be reminded we're not as adequate as another and beneath what we can be and who we truly are. This is devastating and deathly to our health and insides with all its feelings.

I think I will uses roses again for the pictures in the book where God has left this so easy for me to do. I will possibly use the beach as well and its surrounding if God allows me to make it there.

There will still be some standard traditionally formed poems as my last book, but what I've found is being a woman you can't ignore your day and how it is, especially when you're creating where you take in the deepest of emotions and the surrounding.

Women Who Have Courage To Die For Their Dreams: A Book of Poetry (a bit of a taste of some of it) (long poem)

It’s about women who have courage to die for their dreams

why focus on the women who have been hurt in some way?

How would I get through my day?

How would I know I’m not alone?

How would I know maybe I am one of the ones who will get past this time?

When we have the strength show what we’ve accomplished which forces

society to take us as capable individuals and give us the respect with no heavy

bearing on our bodies that we usually have to feel everyday when we are not

at our best in this place

yes you will get that second glance at these circumstances as long as we all

continue to show our accomplishments when we can.

'If you're not growing you're dying.' Tony Robbins

'What does it mean when someone calls your name and you don't recognize it?' Lori Jean Finnila

I remember when I was younger being in fear of dying old and ugly that I wouldn't be accepted into heaven. I had felt the same way all my life about my dreams, that I was already too old and ugly.

Roses #lorijeanfinnila #writing #flowers #roses

The brightness of flowers make me feel so happy. I love what the colors brings to me.

The air feels so much more open to me when I have flowers in my life.

Roses

Roses keep coming to me

I feel them in a wash

I feel them in a lotion

I see the word in my reading unexpected

I feel a spiritual connection

I picture red roses in a row on a dress

I see them in something I carry next to my breast

I fancily flash them in my water bottle carrier by Betsy Johnson

I picture a rose in my camera lens as I look back at it

waiting for it to set onto words

that are waiting for its picture in my book.

Isaac Sacrificed His Life for Women #isaacssacrifice #lorijeanfinnila #blog #sexslavery

Isaac as a boy on Abraham's journey to sacrifice him sacrificed himself for one young woman taken as a sex slave.

Where Isaac sacrificed his life to save women from sex slavery why do we continue to abuse women in this way?

Beautiful flutes that I want to write to.

Beautiful flutes that keep me up

the sound that keeps  my mind inspired

dancing with beautiful feelings

the secret to magic and  mystery

sparkling air like in church

God singing the choir

the deepest touch.

"When They Pass" #lorijeanfinnila #writing

Love is sad when it's not with us

love is sad when that person has gone

love is sad when we don't feel them with us

but if we keep in our hearts they are in the same place

though we might not feel them or see them or have them right next to us in any way

we can be sure they are around us as everyone else is when they pass.

"Savourable Time" #lorijeanfinnila #writing #savourabletime

Savourable Time

I will make the time succulent, dreamy, untouchable, unseen

unfelt, unheard of, for me

I will fly high all alone and fear the sky from inside

I will dodge the stingrays and love the starfish

as I love the water too - I learned to make this place my salvation very young

in such a hard world

Pain and fear may be less relevant to this time and space I have on this earth.

"The Magical Feeling" #newsong #lorijeanfinnila #singersongwriter

Image by Stefan Keller from Pixabay

Verse

I get up with my body burning

with hardly any energy

comb my hair take a shower

try to eat after I puke

my skin is dry and pale

but still see the dark eyes

am I beautiful anymore

I reach for my favorite words with

inspiration that brings me life

Chorus

I can’t believe I can still feel this magic feeling

of words that come so magically to me

I feel life outside of myself that is mine

I know I’m on the right path

to who I am

Verse

I feel the cracked bones in my back

I’m an outcast

life hasn’t turned out like I planned

as the sand cascades like magic rushes of water

equal to the power of the sea

movement I have no control over

starfish move for me

Chorus

Verse

I can’t believe the tire hasn’t killed me

I fight to keep the food down on a daily basis

though I know it will come back up

I start to hear the words….

Bridge

I will continue to walk towards my words

they bring my body to  life and its existence

of its being and acceptance

Chorus

This magic feeling

xxxx
